I Think of a long day past,
Childishly, a cigarette I would smoke,
Back when I was much younger and chaste.
I remember guiltily putting it out fast,
The taste of it made me choke,
I Think of a long day past.
Of you, recollections tumble out in hast
My hair you would lovingly stroke,
Back when I was much younger and chaste
Memory of your eyes in my direction cast
When I would look up, quickly your gaze broke
I Think of a long day past.
How could I have ever forecast,
Calling you, an answer would not evoke,
Back when I was much younger and chaste.
Years have gone by, sadness I taste.
It has been a long time since we last spoke,
I Think of a long day past,
Back when I was much younger and chaste
